Embed Code
Embed code is the small snippet a host pastes into their own website to display a widget - here, an availability calendar or booking form - hosted and updated by the provider rather than built from scratch. It’s typically a short JavaScript snippet or an iframe tag, both of which work on nearly any website builder.
A script-based embed usually mounts an auto-sizing iframe behind the scenes and adjusts its height automatically as content changes, so the widget never gets clipped or leaves an empty gap. An iframe-only embed is the fallback for site builders that block custom scripts but accept a raw iframe tag.
Because the widget lives on the provider's servers and only the embed code lives on the host's site, updates to the widget - new features, fixes, appearance changes made in the dashboard - apply automatically, with nothing on the host's website needing to be touched again.
Why it matters for hosts
