Minimum Stay
A minimum stay is the shortest number of nights a guest is allowed to book in a single reservation. Hosts set it to avoid the extra cleaning and turnover cost of very short stays, and often raise it further during peak weeks when longer bookings are more valuable.
Minimum stay is usually set as a default (e.g. 2 nights) with the option to override it for specific date ranges - a common pattern is a longer minimum over holidays or high season and a shorter one in the off-season.
A booking form or availability calendar that enforces minimum stay will block a guest from selecting a range shorter than the rule, rather than accepting the booking and leaving the host to catch it manually.
Why it matters for hosts
On RentalBeam Pro, minimum stay is set as a default nightly count on the Pricing tab, with seasonal pricing able to override it for specific date ranges - for example, a longer minimum stay and higher rate during peak season.
