Importing a Google Calendar into RentalBeam

If you block dates on a Google Calendar and want RentalBeam to treat them as unavailable, connect it as an iCal source the same way as any other platform:

  1. 1Open Google Calendar and, under Settings, select the calendar you want to sync from.
  2. 2Scroll to Integrate calendar and copy the Secret address in iCal format.
  3. 3In RentalBeam, open the Rentals tab, open your rental, go to Calendar sync, click Add a booking site, and paste that address.
Use the secret address in iCal format, not the calendar's public sharing or embed link. Those don't serve the raw calendar data RentalBeam needs to sync.

Adding a RentalBeam export to Google Calendar

You can also go the other way and subscribe your own Google Calendar to your combined RentalBeam availability. This needs a Plus or Pro plan. You do not need to copy an export URL first: the option creates your personal feed for you. See Exporting your calendar for the export feeds.

Use the Google Calendar option in the More menu on the rental's page. It opens Google Calendar's subscribe screen with the feed already filled in, so you never copy and paste the address by hand.

The quick-add subscribes you to a personal feed called My Calendar: it shows each booking with the guest's name and details, since it is your own private calendar, plus your prep-time days and advance-notice window, so the days closed by those rules also show in Google. Days past your booking window are left out of this feed. It is separate from the Combined Feed you give to platforms, which keeps guest details hidden. You can change or delete My Calendar any time under More RentalBeam calendar links in the rental's Calendar sync.

In your calendar, each kind of day carries its own name so you can tell them apart at a glance. A booking shows the guest's name. A cleaning or turnover day shows Prep time. Days held back for your minimum lead time show Advance notice, and days past how far ahead you take bookings show Booking window (not in My Calendar). A date you closed by hand shows Closed. Each is tagged with your rental's name so several feeds in one calendar stay clear.

Once subscribed, Google Calendar refreshes the feed on its own schedule, independent of RentalBeam. This is normal behavior for any calendar you subscribe to, not something RentalBeam controls.
